Away in a Manger....

Joshua had the idea for this,we were playing with his baby doll (yes,my boys play with dolls) and he told me his baby was the baby Jesus. "But,he needs a manger mommy" So off to the craft/recycling closet we went and found a shoe box that was the perfect size. It had Nike written all over it,so I asked if they wanted to paint it--"YES!!!!" After painting the box...and the table,chairs and their faces,we shredded some yellow and brown paper(for hay)and Josh swaddled baby Jesus in a pillowcase. Okay,not exactly like the first Christmas,but that's what we had to work with. Josh insisted there be a star in the sky so we taped one up. They "played" quietly for some time-they took turns feeding him,reading books and singing and giving kisses-it just melted my heart :)
